The home buying process

The Home buying process

There are seven main steps to the home buying process. Each step is important to getting you into the right home. My job is to walk you through the process and make sure you have all the advice and support you need.

Step 1 - Interview an Agent

Finding the right agent is important. You want to buy a house to call a home and it’s important to have someone represent you that you trust, connect with and know has your best interest. Each agent offers their own specialty and skills but finding someone you can call at all hours, talk through an issue and knows how to best navigate the real estate market is important. Interview many agents until you find the right one.

Step 2 - Get Pre-Approved

Another person you need to interview before home buying is a lender. A lender can make or break a deal, finding one with lots of experience, training, and the knowledge will make sure that you don’t go house broke, find the right loan for your situation, and will advice you on the best way to spend your money. Reach out to me if you would like to connected to lenders in the area that you can trust and I have a personal connection with.

Step 3 - House Shopping

The third step can be the fun part or the most stressful, house shopping. Homes on the MLS can be toured at anytime you are available and when works for the seller. Any agent should keep an active search of homes that come on the market and send you the ones they think would fit your criteria. You can also search online and send them to your agent at any point. There are many things your agent should be busy doing during this time, including communicating with listing agents, finding out everything about each property, and making sure the home is priced right. An agent is always working to make sure that you get the best deal and find the right home.

Step 4 - Make an offer

Once you find that perfect home for you, it’s time to put an offer on the house. The agent will write up an offer with all the guidelines that you put together for them. Make sure they walk through the whole contract with you, so you understand what you are signing and the rules involved with home buying process.

Step 5 - Under contract

Congratulations! Your seller’s have accepted your offer and now you are official under contract. This means that the house is now listed as pending and you can move forward to closing the deal and move into your new home.
